Contributions to Natural History, Physics and Economics from Philosophical Transactions and Collections

In 1779, editor Nathanael Gottfried Leske published a German translation of the part of Leeuwenhoek's Letter 1 of April 23, 1673, that had been published in Philosophical Transactions later in 1673. He included all ten figures.

In 1780, he published German translations of excerpts and summaries of all of the Leeuwenhoek letters excerpted in Philosophical Transactions volumes 9, 10, 11, and 12 and excerpts of all but two of the excerpts in Philosophical Transactions volume 13, an additional 18 letters. They were accompanied by 81 figures, 25 of which were re-engraved and printed in Abhandlungen zur Naturgeschichte.

Leske did not publish them in the order in which they were written, which is also the order they were published in Philosophical Transactions. As shown on the table below, he rearranged to fit the themes of the first three sections of his book:
