Letter L-051 of 15 February 1677 to Christiaan Huygens

I duly received your welcome letter of the 9th inst. I was glad to read that my observations were appreciated in France. If you should receive any comment on my last observations on the louse (which I learn from your father you intend to translate into French and to send to France) I beg you kindly to communicate it to me.

I shall wait two or three weeks before sending a further reply to your letter, as I intend to add two sorts of water to the observations which I have been making for some time past on living creatures in water. Amongst other things I intend to observe these two daily.
