Count Jan II confirmed the rights granted by Floris V

As a result of the political turmoil surrounding the murder to the popular Floris V at age 42 and the suspected murder of his only son John I while still a childless teen in 1299, Floris' line died out.
Jan II of Avesnes, a cousin of Floris, became Count of Holland
Later that year, Jan II confirmed the city rights granted to Deflt by Floris V.
