Document:
Letter 50 L-090 of 11 July 1679 to Lambert van Velthuysen:
I find in your welcome letter of June 17th the assertion of some learned gentlemen concerning the generation of plants and animals, according to which procreation does not take place anew; but in your further discussion you enter so deeply into the subject and are so abstruse that I do not judge myself competent to give an opinion.
