The Royal Society read the third part of Leeuwenhoek's long letter of 9 October 1676

Date:
March 8, 1677

According to Birch's History, vol. 3, p. 334, at their weekly meeting of February 26 (March 8 in Delft), the Royal Society read the third part of Leeuwenhoek's long letter of October 9, 1676.

The third part of Mr. Leewenhoeck's observations concerning living creatures in water, in which pepper had been infused, was read.

Oldenburg had written to Leeuwenhoek to ask for details, as requested at the Royal Society's meetings earlier in February. He also requested that Leeuwenhoek observe muscles and brains.
