Frederick Adriaan van Reede wrote Letter L-257 sometime in June 1695 that he was pleased with Leeuwenhoek’s further observations about garden pests

This letter is known only by reference in L.’s reply. It was written between 18 May 1695, when Leeuwenhoek wrote Letter L-253 to Van Reede and 10 July 1695 when Leeuwenhoek wrote Letter L-260 to him.

In this letter, van Reede writes that he is pleased with L.’s further observations about garden pests.

The pleasure which Your Honour takes in my humble work of investigating the secrets of nature, as mentioned in your welcome letter, makes me take the liberty again to send you these researches.
