Wrote Letter L-315 of 1697-02-19 to Hans Sloane about sending Sesde Vervolg der Brieven and wanting to receive the latest Philosophical Transactions and the works of Malpighi
Text of the letter in the original Dutch and in English translation from Alle de Brieven. The Collected Letters at the DBNL - De Digitale Bibliotheek voor de Nederlandse Letteren
Leeuwenhoek wrote this letter of thanks, in which he announced that he will send his shortly to be published work to the Royal Society. Request for forwarding of the latest numbers of the Philosophical Transactions and of recent work by Marcello Malpighi.
He probably sent Sesde Vervolg and would have sent its Latin translation, Continuatio Arcanorum, but it had not yet been printed because of the cold weather.
He asked that parcels to him be addressed to his nephew Philip van Leeuwen, residing in the Hoogstraat in the Mee Balen at Rotterdam.
As it turned out, the Royal Society had already sent Malpighi's Opera Posthuma, which the Society had published. Leeuwenhoek acknowledged its receipt in Letter L-329 of 10 September 1697.
