Hans Sloane was elected Secretary of the Royal Society and editor of Philosophical Transactions, publishing 68 articles by Leeuwenhoek over the next twenty years

Hans Sloane, new secretary of the Royal Society, worked at first with Robert Waller on volume 18. From volume 19 on, Sloane took editoroal responsibility for Philosophical Transactions. He published 68 articles by Leeuwenhoek over the next twenty years. Before and after, however, astronomer Edmond Halley was editor. He did not publish any articles about microscopic observations, including Leeuwenhoek's.
