Gottfried Leibniz wrote Letter L-539 of 28 September 1716 to report that he has forwarded Leeuwenhoek's Letter L-532 about ovaries to two doctors in Leipzig
Leibniz reported to Leeuwenhoek that he has forwarded his letter about the ovaries in animals to two doctors in Leipzig.
This letter was delivered by Joachim Georg Reinerding, who in his own letter to Leibniz, dated 13 October 1716 (see Sämtliche Schriften und Briefe no. 701), reported:
I have translated the letter to Mr. Leeuwenhoek with its appendices into Dutch and have sent these immediately to Delft. Shortly afterwards, I also travelled to Delft and went to Mr. Leeuwenhoek; however, because he had some [friends] with him, I could not speak him about your letter.
The manuscript is to be found in Göttingen, Universitätsbibliothek, Cod. MS Philos. 138, p. 52; 1 octavo page.
